City of Calgary statement on Province of Alberta COVID-19 announcement

CALGARY - The announcement from the Government of Alberta to remove COVID-19 public health restrictions – specifically the Restrictions Exemption Program – in three phases will result in the end of The City’s Vaccine Passport Bylaw.

The Vaccine Passport Bylaw 65M2021 will end automatically once the Province’s Restrictions Exemption Program is removed as of 11:59 p.m. tonight (February 8). The Face Covering Bylaw 63M2021 will not be affected by this change. A face covering or mask will still be required for everyone over two years of age in indoor public spaces and public vehicles.

The removal of the Restrictions Exemption Program means proof of vaccination, negative test or medical exemption will no longer be required to access City facilities or businesses and organizations covered under the bylaw effective February 9.
